NOTE: I have a few commission openings left before Christmas 2025. If you'd love a custom painting of your favorite animal, now's your chance! Custom paintings take between 2 weeks to 2 months to complete, depending on the complexity and the artist’s waiting list.
I paint lifelike birds for collectors with a spiritual connection to nature. My creatures soar over swirling acrylic pour backgrounds--my way of capturing the hidden emotional language of flight and feather. If you have a favorite bird you'd like me to paint, please read the info below.
***If your special animal is not a bird, good news! I can still paint it. I've been known to explore sea lion art, foxes, pandas, tigers, leopards, jaguars (oh, the precious spots on their fur are so much fun to paint), snakes (these guys are a treasure of colors and patterns), iguanas (same!), turtles, and much more.

Can I send you my own photos?
Yes, I’m open to using owner’s photos, with a very important mention: if you have photos taken by a professional photographer, I require their written permission to use them. This includes photos collected from the internet, which many times are copyrighted.
- I can also provide photos from my own sources, such as royalty-free images, purchased images or pictures taken by me.
Let me know if you have a specific photo to be used as the main reference.
How long does it take you to complete my commission?
It takes me anywhere from 2 weeks to 2 months to complete a commission, depending on the size, complexity, and the waiting list. If you are considering it for a gift, take this time into account, plus shipping time. As a solution, I can send you a “work in progress” certificate or image, as a temporary replacement.
Can you paint in the style of… (insert another artist name)?
As an artist, I maintain and respect my own style, and I will not paint in someone else’s style. :)
2. E-mail me some good, clear photos of your favorite animal (the more photos, the better) at andy@andreeadumez.com. Once we agree on the best pose for the painting, now you are ready to book your commission.
3. Make your selection from the dropdown menu and finalize your purchase.
-> If you wish to pay a 50% downpayment first and 50% when finished, please let me know in your e-mail and I will be happy to create a custom order for you.
-> If you are interested in having the painting framed, we can discuss different colors and designs and I'll add it to the final bill.
Once I receive the order, I will let you know the estimated time it will take me to finish it.
I like to send work-in-progress photos to make sure the painting is to your liking.
Oh, and one more thing: the backgrounds :) Yes, I love abstract, swirly, colorful backgrounds that create a special "aura" around the character. If you have a preferred color palette, let me know before I start painting; I will give you my artist input and we can take it from there.

FREE SHIPPING WITHIN USA FOR ORDERS ABOVE $100.
FOR ART PRINTS:
- Larger paper giclee prints will be shipped rolled in a tube, for a safer transportation.
- Printing time varies between 1-10 business days (may take 1-2 days longer around holidays). If item is framed, time might be longer, also depending on the stock availability of the frame.
- Estimated shipping time in USA: 2-5 business days via USPS (upgrade available for Express 2-day shipping)
- International transit usually averages 2 - 4 weeks but can take longer in some instances if delayed in customs. The destination country may require you to pay custom fees or VAT (Value Added Tax), which is determined by that country.
- Because quality is important to us and our printing partner, all packages and their contents are inspected prior to shipment. If at any point during production, your print does not meet our quality standards, the print is re-printed. This can occasionally cause a minor delay. Other exceptions include situations such as custom orders (special orders for printing not listed on this site), orders which have a high quantity of prints which require some sort of mounting, and orders during the Holidays.
FOR ORIGINAL ART:
- Processing time: 1-5 business days for readily available paintings; 2 weeks- 2 months for custom orders, such as pet portraits.
- Paintings are shipped via USPS, wrapped in glassine paper, then protected by bubble wrap.
- Estimated shipping time in USA: 2-5 business days via USPS (upgrade available for Express 2-day shipping)
- International transit usually averages 2 – 4 weeks. The destination country may require you to pay custom fees or VAT (Value Added Tax), which is determined by that country.

We have a 30-day return policy, which means you have 30 days after receiving your item to return it.

Buyers are responsible for return shipping costs. We'll pay the return shipping costs if the return is a result of our error (you received an incorrect or defective item, etc.)

Cancellations
Request a cancellation within: 2 hours of purchase. Please contact us directly at andy@andreeadumez.com in order to cancel the transaction and refund you.
Damages and issues
Please inspect your order upon reception and contact us immediately if the item is defective, damaged or if you receive the wrong item, so that we can evaluate the issue and make it right for you.
Exceptions / non-returnable items
Certain types of items cannot be returned, like custom products (such as special orders or personalized items) or digital downloads. Please get in touch if you have questions or concerns about your specific item.
We do not accept returns on gift cards.
Exchanges
The fastest way to ensure you get what you want is to return the item you have, and once the return is accepted, make a separate purchase for the new item.
Refunds
We will notify you once we’ve received and inspected your return.
You should expect to receive your refund within four weeks of mailing back your package. However, in many cases, the refund will arrive more quickly. This time period includes the transit time for us to receive your return from the shipper (5 to 10 business days), the time it takes us to process your return once we receive it (3 to 5 business days), and the time it takes your bank to process our refund request (5 to 10 business days).
